Oil on canvas

38" x 30"

This work took inspiration from Greek legend which tells the story of the renowned painter Zeuxis who entered a competition to paint the most realistic representation of reality, when he revealed his painting birds flew down and tried to feed on the grapes, after being fooled by his mastery of illusionism.

Painting can be about entering another world where anything is possible, the artist creates illusions to make their reality believable.
